Training period on Vibrio spp. detection (27 – 31 October 2014)

Two representatives of Food Safety and Veterinary Institute (Albania) attended a training period in IZSAM laboratories about the project titled  “Strengthening of Centres of Aquaculture production and Safety surveillance in Adriatic Cross – border Countries”.

The specific  objectives were about the development of knowledge and skills in order to apply innovative molecular methods for the identification of pathogenic determinants in Vibrio spp strains isolated from seafood.

After a short presentation of working programme and administrative issues, trainees could practice in the laboratory the issues covered: multiplex PCR Vibrio spp detection, quality management system (QMS) and discussion on treated and interpretation of results.

CAPS2 training sessions transfered to the participants knowledge about  relevant elements of the biochemical and molecular methods for Vibro  spp detection, quality management system (OMS)  in the lab, as well as the approach for validate a PCR protocol.
