Training on Microbiology of live shellfish in Split (5 - 9 May 2014)

A week of training was held by Croatian Veterinary Institute (CVI) of Split from 5 to 9 May 2014, within the CAPS2 project WP on strengthen of the diagnostic capabilities.

The Croatian institute provided to the representatives of Veterinary Faculty of Sarajevo (VFS) the training on Microbiology on live shellfish, to determine the Escherichia coli in it.

In the first day, the trainees got theoretical information on CVI, their interventions on this field, methods and analysis for determination of E. coli, and about relevant legislation on the topic.

After, the training continued in laboratories where the trainees, supported by the experts of CVI, could test methods learned to make them again in their own labs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to standardize them to the other of the partnership.

In fact, the aim of WP3 is also to standardize the laboratories to the European ones, using the same analysis and legislation in the bordering countries.

The network keyword, that CAPS2 promote with those moments of knowledge sharing are reinforced when the procedures are harmonized.
