Training on Benzopyrene and other PAHs (28 April - 5 May 2014)

The second training session on Benzopyrene and other PAHs was held at IZSAM from 28 April to 5 May 2014 with the participation of two representatives of Veterinary Faculty of Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and two from the Food Safety and Veterinary Institute of Tirana (Albania).

The four trainees attended the Chemistry Unit working on determination of benzopyrene and other PAHs in food samples and studying the relevant legislation on the topic.

The first day was spent in the classroom for a theorical lesson preparatory to the practical activities in the laboratory in order to better operate on HPLC-FLUO analysis of PAHs, sample preparation, cleanup and instrumental analysis.

The CAPS2 project training are received with a positive attitude by partners which underline their usefulness and the importance of attending the laboratories of the Institute, for setting up the laboratories as those of the EU.

The training sessions are in fact the moment when the sharing and dissemination of knowledge are expressed at their highest.
